Creative Schools
This year we were thrilled to learn that Scoil Chaitríona Infants has been selected to take part in the Creative Schools Programme. It is a flagship initiative of the Creative Ireland Programme to enable the creative potential of every child. It aims to put the arts and creativity at the heart of children and young peoples’ lives.
We are very excited to be chosen to participate in this two-year project as it will mean we will receive a grant to spend on the arts, will have access to lots of workshops and fun creative activities for the children to experience.
We have been paired up with an artist, Anne Craddon, a contemporary artist who has worked with many schools in North Dublin. As the voice of the child is central to this process and decision making, Anne will consult with the students on what interests them and what kind of activities they would like to see happening in the school. Our overall goal is to integrate creativity and fun into our approach to learning across all curriculum areas in Scoil Chaitríona Infants.

April 2022 Update
We are delighted to have completed our drama performance here in Scoil Chaitríona Infants. As you know, the option of a drama performance won the vote that took place earlier this year in our school. We were so excited to have been able to work alongside the amazing staff in Showtime Theatre School to put together some wonderful performances in early April. We spent many hours practicing every week in the months leading up to the show, and were extremely proud of all of our students’ hard work paying off on the nights of the 4th and 5th of April when they performed live in front of a full audience.
Our Junior Infant classes worked together to perform an Elvis medley, our Senior Infants performed a Trolls medley and our First Classes performed both Grease and Mary Poppins inspired shows. Have a look at some pictures from these nights below…
We need your help! Something very exciting is going to happen in Scoil Chaitíona very soon. We need your help to decided which activity we could like to do in our school. We have three cool choices to choose from! Would you like to learn circus skills, join a school of rock or learn how to act and put on a show for the school? Watch this video carefully and think about which choice would be your favourite.
Once you have made your decision please return your ballot to school by the 26th of November. Once the votes are counted Mrs Dineen will announce the winner!!

This Term our creative associate Anne has been visiting our school to get to know the children, listen to their ideas and to gather information to help us make our creative school plan. As part of her workshops, the children got to experience making art individually and collaboratively inspired by different materials and the nature around our school (photos to come)
